FAQs
Do tattoos hurt?
Yes, but it is bearable. I like to describe getting a tattoo as a cat-scratch on a sunburn. Be sure to eat a good meal before your appointment and avoid alcohol or any other blood thinners.
How much will my tattoo cost?
I charge $200 per hour, with a studio minimum of $500. The cost of your tattoo is directly related to the amount of time it will take to complete the design. Where we place the design on your body can affect the difficulty and duration of your new tattoo as well.
So if you ain’t got no money, stay home witcha broke ass.
Is it customary to tip the artist?
Yes. Some people treat it like a restaurant, but generally, anything is appreciated.
Can I see the line-drawing for my tattoo before my appointment?
You will not see a design until the day of your appointment , if one is scheduled. If you are uncomfortable with my process, another artist may be better suited to you.
What is Reilly’s schedule?
Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
What should I have prepared for Reilly to consider my project?
In general, please be prepared to send any reference images that you feel inspired by or would like incorporated into your piece. We will then discuss what we can make work within your vision. After we get onto the same page, we can set an appointment date and take a deposit. Deposits are generally between $100-$200 depending on the individual session(s).
If I want to make changes to my tattoo before my appointment, how should I contact Reilly?
Your project consideration form is your ONLY opportunity to give me your information. I will not accept changes via email or in person. Be as specific as possible the first time with your must-haves and dislikes. Trying to change your tattoo after confirmation may compromise your design and appointment, wasting everyone’s time.
Is it okay to get a tattoo if I am sick?
No! Your body works hard to take care of you while you’re getting tattooed. If you’re also sick, your body will be working twice as hard which means you’ll likely tap out faster and have a much harder time healing. You also put the artist at risk of getting sick so stay home and reschedule your appointment if necessary. I WILL NOT TATTOO YOU IF YOU ARE SICK.
Is it okay to get a tattoo if I am pregnant?
No. 💙
What should I get and where?
You should already have an idea of what tattoo you want to get before submitting a project consideration form. If you are feeling indecisive about where to place the tattoo, I will work with you during our communication to make a decision. It all begins with an idea.
I submitted a project consideration form and have not heard back from Reilly. What’s going on?
Submitting a form does not guarantee an appointment. I may not have the time to make your tattoo this time around, but that does not mean I am not interested in your idea. Please be patient, I will respond to your submission as soon as I can.

Aftercare
Your tattoo was carefully created by a professional. To ensure a top-quality tattoo, the rest is up to you. Please follow these simple aftercare instructions during the healing process of your tattoo to ensure maximum results and to avoid infection, loss of color/detail, etc.
Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo!
Remove the bandage within 1 - 2 hours after getting your tattoo. Do not re-bandage.
Wash tattoo with unscented antibacterial soap. Be gentle, do not use a washcloth or anything that will exfoliate your tattoo. Only use your hands.
Gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel. Do not rub or use a fabric with a rough surface.
Use unscented lotion while your tattoo is healing. Always use clean hands and do not place your fingers back into the lotion after touching your tattoo. Rub a small amount on your tattoo so that it is not shiny or greasy – you want the thinnest amount possible. Pat off any excess lotion with a clean paper towel.
Apply lotion 3-5 times daily for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Wear clean, loose clothing to protect tattoo while healing (at least 2 weeks). Do not wear abrasive materials, jewelry, or shoes that rub against your tattoo.
On the 3rd or 4th day, your tattoo will begin to peel. This is normal! Do not pick, scratch or peel any scabbing or flaky skin; allow it to come off on its own. Keep the tattoo clean and continue to use unscented lotion to help alleviate itch and promote healing.
You can shower, but you may not soak your tattoo for 2 weeks. No swimming/soaking in pools, beaches, or hot tubs.
Do not expose your healing tattoo to the sun for at least 3 weeks. Once your tattoo is healed, use high SPF sunblock when exposed to the sun.
Do not expose your tattoo to anything that may hinder healing, including but not limited to: shaving, unclean gym equipment, unclean hands, etc.
Derm Shield / Saniderm / Tegaderm
- The bandage is flexible, waterproof, and breathable and should be left on for specified time.
Whether 1 day, cleaned, dried off and applied again or leaving on for 3-5 days.
When removing the bandage, it is best to do so with running warm water and an unscented soap.
Gently peel the bandage by gently pulling it slowly from a edge away from the tattoo, avoid pulling
upwards, allowing the small amount of tension to let the bandage separate from your skin. Clean off
your tattoo and be sure to get the adhesive residue as well.
Return to the unscented lotion/soap routine for the remainder of the 2 weeks after tattoo session.
